What was I doing when I was eight?

Andrew had his friend Dylan over today. They couldn't wait to collaborate on a Lego Star Wars video. We had some errands to do, and the boys talked incessantly through them - planning. Once we got home, they produced an intracate five minute video in about two hours. So you can see it, Dad figured out how to post to YouTube. Check it out!

Baseball action

The Blue Jays played their 2nd game today (should have been their 3rd, but we had a rainout last Monday). Sam and Andrew were great, especially on defense. Sam caught 2 fly balls, and doubled a runner off 3rd base on one of them. Andrew caught one fly ball, and made a couple of other great defensive plays at shortstop. They won 15-11.
We've had a busy week, and haven't had a chance to update the blog. Here's a late picture from last weekend's Easter in Oregon.

Take Me Out

Baseball season started tonight! Andrew and Sam had fun and looked great out there. Their team lost in a close game, 18-16 in 4 innings (thank goodness for the 5 run rule, and the time limit or we'd still be there). Andrew made an unassisted double play (caught a fly ball, stepped on 3rd when the runners took off) and they both hit well. The last out of the game was made when Sam fielded a grounder at 2nd and threw to Andrew on 1st. This will be a fun year!

Sun Fun

Some highlights of our spring break trip to Arizona:

  • BASEBALL - Mariner's spring training was amazing. We went a little early to watch the players warm up. Andrew and Sam loved seeing their favorites so close up. They waited patiently until warm-ups were over, and were rewarded with autographs by Ken Griffey Jr., Yuniesky Betancourt, and some other guys we've never heard of. The game itself was fun too. The Mariners won 18-3, we had a nice lunch and walked around.

  • We had great visits with family all week! Lots of people to visit and spend time with. We especially enjoyed meeting Ephram and Ethan, Lisa and Christa's boys. The little boys seemed to like having the big boys to play with.

  • On Saturday, Lisa took us on a little hike that turned into some rock climbing that Andrew and Sam loved. Nice views of the city of Phoenix too.
  • I don't think we saw a single cloud in the sky the entire week. Fortunately, our weather on returning has been nice, or I think we would be in shock.
