The Best Free Shirts Ever

Ichiro "away" jerseys were the give-away at the Mariner's game today. Made of mesh fabric, with a real button front and everything, these were a big hit.

Andrew's quote of the day, "This is the best game we've ever gone to, except for the score." Mariners lost 12-3.

Rainiers Baseball Camp

Andrew and Sam participated in a youth baseball camp put on by the Tacoma Rainiers, the Seattle Mariners' AAA minor league team. They had a great time! They got to throw off the bullpen mound, bat in the batting cages, take infield and outfield practice, and play a wiffle-ball game. Players and coaches from the Rainiers worked with them, and had an autograph-signing session at the end of camp.

Happy Birthday Andrew!!

We celebrated Andrew's birthday with his friends last weekend. He came up with the idea for his cake. We had the bakery make a cake that looked like a football field, and Andrew decorated it himself with Lego people playing a game (black shirts vs. white shirts, Darth Vader played for the black shirts...you get the idea). Today, Sam and Andrew are spending the day with the Harveys while Mom and Dad are at work, and both families are going to the Tacoma Rainiers game tonight.

Happy 4th of July!

We spent the 4th in Lancaster, PA at the Barnstormers vs. Revolution game (won by the Revolution, which only seems right). Before the game, we enjoyed seeing Rosi's new townhouse. The pond that Sam and Andrew are standing by offered many frogs to entertain the boys. Sam really wanted to catch one (there were dozens of them), but they were too quick!
